The Outdoor Oasis Process: What to Expect From Concept to Completion
At Outdoor Oasis, we believe your outdoor living project should be exciting—not stressful. From the initial survey and paver selection to permitting, construction, and the final walkthrough, we keep you informed at every stage.
Whether we’re building a screened patio, installing a new paver surface, or transforming your backyard into a complete outdoor oasis, here’s what you can expect.
Our Outdoor Oasis Process
- Getting Started
We begin by collecting your property survey, preferably in digital format, so we can prepare the survey drawing required for permitting. If you only have a paper copy, a clear photo of it can usually work. We also begin the screen engineering process at this stage. - Paver Selection
You’ll select the pavers for your project. If you’re matching existing pavers, let us know and provide any documentation or photos you have. Otherwise, we recommend reviewing products from Flagstone, Tremron, and Belgard. Flagstone products are often a great choice when availability is important, while some Belgard and Tremron selections may require 4–6 weeks to arrive. - Materials & Scheduling
Once your paver selection is finalized, we’ll order the materials and begin coordinating installation crews. Construction can typically be scheduled once the permit is approved, which is generally 4–6 weeks. - Pre-Construction
We recommend contacting 811 before excavation. Underground utility lines can sometimes be inadvertently damaged during demolition or excavation. 811 is a free service that helps identify the approximate location of underground utilities before work begins. The Notice of Commencement (NOC) must also be signed before construction begins. The NOC is a legal document recorded with the county and is required for projects over $2,500. - Delivery & Check-In
Pavers are generally delivered the day before installation. One side of the driveway is usually the best location for delivery, but let us know if you have a preference. Please inspect the pavers when they’re delivered and notify us of any potential issues. - Initial Walkthrough
We’ll conduct an initial walkthrough with you and each installation crew involved in your project. This helps ensure everyone is on the same page before work begins - Finish & Final Walkthrough
Once construction is complete, we’ll perform a final walkthrough together and address any punch-list items. After pavers are installed and sealer is applied, they should not be walked on for 24 hours. The final deposit is due within 24 hours of the final walkthrough.
