What You Need to Know When Considering Pavers

Pavers are a popular choice for various outdoor spaces, from driveways to patios and walkways. They can enhance the aesthetic appeal of your home while providing a durable surface. However, before making a decision, there are several factors to consider to ensure you choose the right pavers for your project.

Types of Pavers

Before getting into the specifics, it’s essential to understand the different materials available.

1. Concrete Pavers

  • Durability: Known for their strength and longevity; ideal for heavy traffic areas.
  • Cost: Generally affordable, making them a popular choice for many homeowners.
  • Variety: Available in various shapes, sizes, and colors.

2. Clay Brick Pavers

  • Aesthetic Appeal: Brings a classic and timeless look to any space.
  • Color Retention: Maintains color over time due to its manufacturing process.
  • Environmental Impact: Made from natural materials and are often recycled.

3. Natural Stone Pavers

  • Unique Appearance: Each stone has its own color and texture, providing a unique look.
  • Longevity: Highly durable and resistant to weathering.
  • Cost: Typically more expensive, but can add significant value to your property.

4. Permeable Pavers

We recommend you go to a showroom in order to see the pavers in person before choosing one. Try to keep the thickness the same throughout if possible because sometimes the colors can change slightly due to the different dye in the lots. For example, if you’re redoing your driveway and walkways, try to keep them all 60mm if possible. If it is a new construction home, then this will be easier. If you’re installing new pavers on an existing home, you may be able to save money by going over the concrete on your walkways with thin pavers, just be aware that there may be a slight color difference.
