Outdoor Oasis

This is most likely a once in a lifetime journey creating your own outdoor oasis. So it’s probably not something you’ve done before. We understand it can be overwhelming. Here’s what you can expect to encounter and how we can help.

Getting Started – You may not know where to start, who to trust and how much it will cost. Ask friends, family and any business referral groups you may be associated with.  Build your space from the ground up. If you will need to phase the project due to budget, get your full plan together, strip everything away that you want to get rid of and get the ground ready for all the phases. For example, if you have old broken concrete and a backyard layout that doesn’t make sense, start there. Leave space for landscaping, knowing that’s the easiest thing to add in and change over time. Getting the bones of your yard in place first will be the biggest pay off for you; patios, decks, retaining walls and concrete.

Your Homework – Research local companies. Get inspiration from others in your neighborhood and/or social media. Schedule intro calls with a few companies you would seriously consider. Get to know their process and personalities.

Review Estimates – You should receive a drawing or rendering if you are considering an outdoor remodel. This will give you a better vision for your project. Compare not only prices, but make sure the scope is similar with square footage, materials, etc. Consider how long the project will take, what their schedule timeline is and any other factors that are important to you.

Decide On a Contractor – When you have peace about which direction to go, make a decision and get started. You will need to put a deposit down and sign the proposal along with terms and conditions for most contractors.

Enjoy Your Outdoor Oasis – You have a place you can create memories in, use to build and strengthen relationships in and serve as your outdoor oasis when you need peace and quiet.  You went from reluctant to invite people over, possibly ashamed of your outdoor space and intimidated of getting started to confident, life of the party, community connector, rejuvenated, happy, joyful and more. Congrats, enjoy!

If this still seems overwhelming, a company like ours may really come in handy when it comes to making your outdoor oasis a reality. Many times, one spouse ends up playing the role of general contractor by trying to coordinate everybody and plan the project. Some people may enjoy this, but many don’t and many just can’t. The opportunity cost of the time spent on managing the project would be much better invested with a professional who does outdoor living projects all the time. Contact us today to see how we can help.
